Research and initial drafting of guidance notes, on behalf of The National Youth Agency, for the Department for Education and Skills linked to the provisions of the Youth Green Paper ‘Youth Matters’ (2005) and the Education and Inspections Act (2006). Specifically, guidance addressing:
- Positive activities in 2-tier authorities (2007)
- Joint Planning and Commissioning (2006)
- The Local Offer (2006)
- The Youth Opportunity Fund and Youth Capital Fund (2005)
Young People, Youth Work and Youth Services (2006)
An introductory guide, commissioned by The National Youth Agency, that tells the story of youth work and youth services, and how both contribute to improving young people’s lives and well-being.
Distance Learning (2005-2006)
Research and writing distance learning materials for Leicester University ‘Blackboard’ based Foundation Degree in Drug and Alcohol Counselling.
Performance Management (2006)

Editing performance journey booklet for Allied Irish Bank.
Making Self-Assessment Work (2005)
Publication focused on self-assessment by voluntary youth organisations. Commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills to:
- Demonstrate the benefits of self-assessment for young people and voluntary youth organisations
- Promote a shared understanding of the purpose and process of self-assessment
- Provide guidance to voluntary organisations working with young people in order to enable those organisations to make best use of self-assessment within their work
- Support continuing improvements that raise the quality of youth work.

Working with minority ethnic communities – Models of good practice (2002)
Case studies commissioned by the National Probation Directorate to exemplify effective practice in probation work with minority ethnic communities. Involved work with probation service staff and partner agencies from five Probation Areas - Hampshire, Merseyside, Staffordshire, Suffolk and West Yorkshire.
